Our products are grown on the pristine south coast of Western Australia (WA) in the Great Southern region.

Grown in the heart of the Great Southern

The cool Mediterranean climate, loamy soils and the occasional spring and summer rainfall give us the perfect growing conditions for sustainable farming and the production of hemp crops packed with nutrients. 

Surrounded by pristine wilderness and some of the most beautiful surfing beaches in WA, all the ingredients for the production of healthy hemp and buckwheat foods are right here – clean water, sunshine and fresh air straight off the Southern Ocean.

Why hemp?

Hemp seeds are one of the most nutritionally dense foods in the world. As a source of protein and omega fatty acids, they’re a sustainable alternative to animal-based diets. Hemp seeds are also gluten-free.

Hemp seeds can be a delicious key ingredient in many of your favourite meals, including smoothies, pancakes, bread mixes, salads and herb crusts.

Sustainable from the paddock to the pantry

We farm the way we live - in the most sustainable way we can, with respect for the local environment and community that supports us. 

We’ve taken care to minimise the environmental impact of all South Coast Hemp Foods products. We don't use pesticide or herbicide spray on our crops, and our hemp is grown with the best sustainable farming technology.

Every part of our packaging is fully compostable - from the ink to the shipping satchel. 

We also grow, process, and package our products here in the Great Southern region. This is in order to reduce our food miles and minimise our carbon footprint. We see these efforts as key to building a sustainable, future-focused business.

Founder Brad Skeggs

South Coast Hemp founder Brad Skeggs is a hemp and buckwheat farmer.

Brad is an advocate for hemp as a sustainable, progressive food, which is a great source of protein and omega fatty acids for a world looking for alternatives to animal-based nutrition.

He is also passionate about buckwheat and the plant's versatility in the diets of those with diabetes, gluten intolerance or coeliac disease.

Our commitment to quality

All South Coast Hemp Foods products are of the highest quality and meet WA standards for food-grade hemp.

Our crops have tested below 1% THC and our seeds have less than 8% moisture content. We ensure our seeds are cleaned to 99.9% purity and screened for immature or poor-quality seeds (don’t worry, we don’t waste them).

We check for colour, odour and impurities.

That means our products contain only the highest-quality mature hemp seeds, full of flavour and packed with nutrition.
